BAME Young Leaders Project
Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) groups growing up in deprived areas can feel isolated and disconnected from their communities, adding to the challenges which all young people face. They may experience racism or be blamed for violence due to the ignorance of their peers.
This can push them out of school making them more likely to play truant, develop anti-social attitudes and behaviours and even fall prey to gang influence.
The 2020 Rising Young Leaders Project provides help for BAME youths to overcome their disadvantages and find success whether that is through the academic route, by working their way up the career ladder or even by starting and running their own businesses.
We can also work with teachers, parents and community leaders in supporting the development of BAME young people.
Life coaching is a proven technique for empowering people from all backgrounds to give of their best.
2020 Rising life coaches help young people to bring out their inner talent and improve, first, their employability and then their ability to achieve their full career and civic potential.
We can help BAME youths to find work or training, develop commitment and thrive whether in academic circles, the workplace or the boardroom.
To support our work in raising awareness we have produced a number of books.
Topics include Knife Crime, Gang Prevention, Mental Health & more.
Our publications are suitable for both parents & teachers.
Mentoring is a way to enhance life and career development through close, ongoing support. A good mentor will be both a role model and a supportive arm around a young person they are taking under their wing.
Mentoring has a long tradition. It is one of the oldest forms of passing on wisdom but has also led to the development of some of the most successful businesspeople of our time including James Dyson, Jeff Bezos of Amazon and Richard Branson.
A 2020 Rising mentor will understand the challenges faced by young BAME individuals, provide support and advice and help them to achieve their full potential.
Many young people show an enterprising spirit from an early age but can find the environment unsupportive.
2020 Rising enterprise specialists can help enable boys and girls from diverse backgrounds to channel their talent while developing business acumen and skills. We can teach entrepreneurial youths how to turn their ideas into workable strategies, conduct market research,
